Unique In-Line ID Measurement for Honing, Grinding, Boring, Reaming and Drilling Operations or Incoming Part Inspection

Available on lease, shop-tough bore gages require no electricity, air, or special expertise for fast part checking

PG-Series Bore Gages are ideal for fast, simple, economical process control in a lean manufacturing environment, combining lab-precise accuracy (±0.000025 in/0.0006 mm) with a shop-hardened, all-mechanical design. PG-Series gages bring reliable ID gaging to the manufacturing floor with no need for electrical or air connections, making them immune to fluctuations in line voltage or air pressure. Compact and easily portable, the gages can be mounted right at machining stations. Unique gaging fixtures enable simple two-minute setup, while eliminating the need and expense for plug gages, mics, jo blocks, master rings or micrometers.

The PG Bore Gage removes complexity, skill and "feel" from the measurement process, allowing machine operators to precisely confirm part size with a visually intuitive analog scale. The speedometer-type scale provides readouts down to 0.000050 in (.001 mm) for 100 percent inspection of machining operations or fast sampling of large vendor lots.

Affordable for shops of all sizes, PG-Series Bore Gages can be either purchased outright or leased on a monthly basis. The lease program includes maintenance and system updates. Various models are available for gaging IDs from 0.090 in to 4.310 in. Metric models cover IDs from 2.0 mm to 109.47 mm.

These gages can be used to examine the entire bore for diameter, taper, barrel, bell mouth, out-of-round and lobing. A sliding faceplate with adjustable stops permits end-to-end examination of bores. Stops can be set to allow examination of a particular section of the bore, with accuracy right up to the edge of ports, lands and ends. The gages use proven all-mechanical design to "lock in" accuracy, performance and reliability. An exclusive system of floating reeds locks gage fingers at the desired diameter size against drift or lag. Accuracy is not affected by temperature, moisture, air pressure, or vibration. The floating reed system eliminates friction and wear to maintain original repeatability and linearity, no matter the gage's age or amount of use.

A calibration ring traceable to NIST and international standards comes as part of the gage system and features nominal size at 68 deg F marked on the face. Calibration checks with the ring ensure that gage-setting capability retains accuracy within original limits of ±0.000020 in. A PG-Series Bore Gage system comes standard with everything needed to measure any bore size in its range. Accessories are available for special requirements.
